COVID-19 FAQ’s

Will I need a COVID passport to attend?

Currently, you do not need a COVID passport to attend Chester Racecourse. We will continue to monitor local and national government guidelines and if this changes we will update the customers that it would affect.

Do I need to be double vaccinated or prove a negative test to attend?

You do not need to be double vaccinated or prove a negative test to be able to attend. However, we do encourage all customers to take a lateral flow test before visiting the racecourse for the safety of other attendees.

COVID-19 cases are rising in Chester. What are you doing to keep your customers safe?

Whilst restrictions have lifted, the safety and well-being of our customers and staff continues to be our main priority. Therefore, we have the following measures in place to keep racegoers and employees alike safe:

  • All staff will continue to wear masks and we encourage customers to wear a face covering whilst indoors or in crowded areas.
  • Hand sanitising stations will remain in place at entrances and in high traffic areas of the racecourse.
  • We continue to keep a very high level of cleaning throughout the whole racecourse. Including fog cleaning in indoor areas, frequent cleaning of touchpoints and a cleaning attendant in the toilets.
  • A digital ticket will continue to be used to minimise physical contact.
  • We continue to ask all customers to check in on entry, and we require all lead bookers to submit track and trace information whilst booking.

Do I need to wear a mask?

As per the government guidelines you are no longer required to wear a mask whilst at Chester Racecourse. However, we encourage all of our racegoers to wear a mask in crowded areas or whilst moving around in indoor areas to help protect each other.

Will social distancing remain in place at Chester Racecourse?

As per the government guidelines we are removing social distancing measures. To be able to welcome full crowds back to our race days, we have had to remove social distancing measures.

What happens if I’ve been asked to self-isolate by Test and Trace?

If you have been asked to self-isolate, you will receive a full refund. You will need to provide evidence to the racecourse for the refund to be processed. This refund is only available to the individual(s) who have been told to self-isolate.

What will happen if restrictions are re-imposed by the government in the future?

If the UK government were to reimpose restrictions in the future, we would adapt our operations to this guidance and inform customers on any changes as soon as possible.

What is the refund policy now COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted?

If the race day is cancelled due to COVID-19, racegoers will be issued a full refund or option to transfer to another fixture.

If you have been contacted by Test and Trace, or tested positive for COVID-19 and asked to self-isolate we will refund your ticket in full. This refund policy only applies to the individual(s) who have been told to self-isolate or tested positive. Additionally, you must provide evidence to the racecourse that you have been asked to self isolate or have received a positive test result.

If none of the above apply, our normal refund policy remains in place. You can find this over on our website.
