Q: Will social distancing be in place?

A: Yes, strict social distancing will be in place throughout the site, in line with Government guidelines

Q: Will I be required to wear a mask?

A: Yes, you may be required to wear a mask unless you are sitting down, eating or drinking.

Q: Will I need to take a testing before attending?

A: We encourage everyone to take a rapid, lateral flow test before attending. These tests are free & tell you if you’re infectious within 30 mins. These tests are free and can be collected from local pharmacies or test sites. If your test is positive, you must self-isolate and book a confirmatory PCR test at: nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling: 119. Please do not attend the racecourse if your test is positive. Please note, it is not compulsory to take a test for attendance.

Q: Will I be entitled to a refund if the event is cancelled?

A: If you purchase a ticket/hospitality package, Chester Racecourse reserves the right to transfer, refund or upgrade you at any point based on any specific capacity restrictions or venue zoning protocols.

Importantly, to give you reassurance when booking, any customer who purchases a ticket/hospitality package for a future fixture will be entitled to a transfer or full refund in the event it is cancelled.

Where an event is cancelled due to Covid-19 or where a consumer is required by law to be in self-isolation at the time of the event, the consumer will be entitled to a refund.  Please note fixtures may be subject to change based on changing Government guidelines and we will advise of any relevant changes in a timely manner.

Q: Where are the entry and exit points?

A: Entry points are as follows:

Gate 3A – Hospitality, Chester Members and Shareholders
Gate 6 – General Admission
Gate 7 – General Admission
Gate 11 – Paddock Enclosure & Winning Post

Q: How many tickets can I purchase?

A: Maximum 6 tickets per transaction. ALL attendees must have a Chester Racecourse customer account – click here to set up your account. Tickets will only be activated once the customer profile has been completed. Your account will only permit one transaction for each fixture.

Q: Where will I be able to access with a general admission ticket?

A: General Admission Access will include access to the County Lawn, Tattersalls, Dee Stand and dedicated zone in the Paddock to allow viewing of the Parade Ring. Unfortunately the Open Course is currently closed and all attendees, including children must purchase a General Admission or hospitality ticket.

Q: Where will I be able to access with a Winning Post and Paddock Enclosure ticket?

A: Winning Post & Paddock Enclosure ticket purchasers can move around the Paddock, including The Pavilion Lawn, which offers trackside viewing. Unfortunately, Winning Post & Paddock Enclosure ticket purchasers will not be able to access the Grandstand side of the racecourse. Ticket holder offers are allocated a seat and table throughout the day.

Q: Will bars and food outlets be open?

A: Access to indoor facilities will be restricted and all food and drink is to be consumed outdoors and only whilst seated (dedicated zones will be made available on the grandstand side of the track) unless you have a booked table within a designated hospitality facility.

Q: Will the County Stand be open?

A: The County Stand will be closed to general admission tickets holders for these two fixtures with no access to the Grandstand seats.

Q: Will there be wet weather cover?

A: There will be no wet weather cover and patrons will not be allowed inside or gather and take shelter under canopies. Umbrellas are permitted.

Q: How many people can sit on a table in hospitality areas?

A: There is a maximum of six people per table, in line with the Government rule of six guidelines. Patrons dining in The White Horse (including The White Horse Huts), Festival Village and Final Furlong restaurants will have free movement on the Paddock side of the course and access to track viewing from the Pavilion Lawn (Paddock side).

Q: What is the dress code?

The dress code for all General Admission, Paddock Enclosure and Winning Post areas will be the Tattersall dress code; smart casual dress, gentlemen must wear a collar, either a shirt or polo shirt, smart jeans and chinos are permitted, we encourage racegoers to dress for the weather conditions.

The dress code for all Hospitality will be; Gentlemen are required to wear a well-tailored suit or a blazer/sports jacket with smart trousers, together with a shirt, collar and tie. Ladies are required to wear smart dress. No denim jeans of any colour, no trainers, no sportswear and no fancy dress will be permitted.

Q: Can I move between areas if I buy a hospitality ticket?

A: Patrons dining in The White Horse (including The White Horse Huts), Festival Village and Final Furlong restaurants will have free movement on the Paddock side of the course, and access to track viewing from the Pavilion Lawn on the Paddock side.

Q: What is your pricing policy?

A: Chester Racecourse may employ dynamic pricing on fixtures operating with a capacity restricted crowd. The price shown on the website is correct at time of purchase, and is set based on the number of tickets available. Chester Racecourse reserves the right to amend pricing at any time.

Q: How will I receive my Chester Races tickets?

A: All tickets will be distributed in e-ticket that will be activated through the Chester Raceday app. You will receive an email prior to race day with instructions on how to download the  Chester Raceday App where your ticket will be activated.

If you have purchased multiple tickets, you can distribute your e-tickets to members of your party digitally. Simply log in to your Chester Racecourse ticket account online, click on your booking and enter the other ticketholders email addresses. They will then receive their e-tickets by email from us.
