Tickets, badges and Chester annual memberships are now on sale ahead of a new season at Chester Racecourse.
Chester Racecourse have announced a price freeze on all ticket and membership prices, alongside the introduction of a range of new timed discounted offers across multiple fixtures.
A new Early Bird offer is available for both Ladies Day of the Boodles May Festival and MBNA Roman Day and Half-Price ticket offers are once again available for the opening day of the season, City Day and MBNA Family Funday. All Friday fixtures will benefit from a £10 discount offer, whilst groups are entitled to receive a complimentary ticket for every 10 purchased across all fixtures in various enclosures – a great incentive for group organisers.
Tickets to every single meeting in 2020 are available to buy and start at just £10 per person, whilst children aged 17 and under are eligible to attend every single Chester meeting free of charge, when accompanied by a responsible adult.
15 meetings run throughout 2020 between Tuesday 5 May and Saturday 26 September. The Boodles May Festival kicks off a new season with three consecutive days of the most competitive racing, in which stars of the sport and the highest-profile trainers visit the Roodee. MBNA Roman Day on Saturday 23 May is the first of two family-themed fixtures, supported by a programme of supplementary activities out on the Open Course to keep youngsters entertained between races.
Warmer weather is anticipated ahead of the first social Saturday meeting in June and two Friday evening fixtures in June and July promise a racing start to the weekend, with six races a-piece and live entertainment. A full summer schedule concludes with the Autumn Festival two-day meeting, before the Season Finales draws the business end of the season to a close – the final toast to another jam-packed season of action at Chester.
2019 saw over 251,000 racegoers visit the Roodee across 15 days of racing. 917 runners competed in 104 races for a total prize money fund of over £2.34 million. Champions of the Roodee turf were crowned kings of Chester; Top Jockey Richard Kingscote with eight wins, Trainer Richard Fahey with 15 and winning Owner Dr Marwan Koukash with a total of 14.
Chief Executive of Chester Race Company, Richard Thomas, said:
“2019 was another successful season in which we unveiled an improved race day experience and new facilities to visiting racegoers and horsemen. We had some fantastic feedback on the Chester offering this year and we will be looking to implement further improvements ahead of May 2020.
“Our commitment to delivering a high-quality, enjoyable race day for our racegoers is paramount and we recognise that price has an important part to play in the decision making to come racing. In freezing our prices for 2020, we are looking to reward the loyalty of our customers, whilst the range of prices and an improved number of offers available across our fixtures and enclosures will ensure that racing at Chester remains accessible and affordable for all.”
