The Sport of Kings returns to Chester Racecourse this weekend for the much anticipated LDF International Polo Tournament, Friday 8 June & Saturday 9 June.

There has been much excitement this week, as Chester Polo Club announced the teams and players set to battle it out for the extravagant £10,000 prize fund in the LDF International Polo 2018. LDF, Laurent-Perrier, Arbuthnot Latham and V Docs make up the four teams in the six goal tournament. High profile players make up the team sheet including; Mike Henderson (4) playing for Laurent-Perrier and Matias Amaya (5) playing for Arbuthnot Latham. Fierce competition is anticipated from the worthiest contenders all fighting for a spot in the Finals Day, Saturday 9 June. After the final whistle, spectators will witness the Laurent-Perrier Champagne soaked presentations.
On both Friday & Saturday, gates will open at 12pm with two games scheduled throughout the afternoon, commencing at 2.30pm. Spectators are advised to arrive in plenty of time in order to secure a pitch side spot to cheer on their favoured team. With serious games set to be played with a compelling narrative, this flagship tournament within the prestigious Polo calendar is not to be missed.
Should any youngsters be inspired by the action on the pitch, they’ll be able to practice their swing on a ‘have a go Polo pony’ and even test their own speed whilst enjoying the free pony rides on offer on Saturday. Furthermore there will be additional free activities, on Saturday, for little ones including crafts, garden games and face painting. Dee 106.3 will be in attendance along with Chester the cat!
There will also be opportunity to mingle with the style set, as new partner luxury menswear brand Hackett will be in attendance, showcasing their latest wares.
Following their new automotive partnership, Chester Polo will welcome luxury car dealership H.R. Owen to the Roodee. Representatives from the well-established dealership will showcase the latest models including the stunning Maserati Levante, pitch-side throughout the Tournament.
In addition, there will also be a pop-up shopping village on the Saturday with premium brands such as Penhaligon's and The Chester Grosvenor showcasing their latest collections.
The event is set to bring an atmosphere like no other during the great British summer, so join the enthusiastic crowd, and cheer on the teams. As well as being key events in the sporting calendar, Polo at Chester Racecourse is a highlight in the Cheshire social season, with great entertainment, food and drink.
