The White Horse | Chester Racecourse

The White Horse

The White Horse is a modern gastro-pub, set in the heart of the Paddock area of Chester Racecourse. Just a short walk from the winner’s enclosure, guests can enjoy a prime location right in the centre of the racing excitement.

This ambient on-course pub offers a relaxed race day dining experience, including a glass of Prosecco on arrival, followed by a delicious three-course lunch with coffee. The menu features refined British gastro-fayre inspired by seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. There is also a bar serving carefully selected cask ales, wines from around the globe and artisan gins.

Guests can choose from a table within the conservatory or pub itself. Both packages provide a reserved table throughout the day, complimentary racecard on arrival and access to in-house betting facilities and all the amenities of the Paddock Enclosure.

The conservatory is a stylish and contemporary area of the pub which boasts views of both the pre-parade ring and of the horses in their saddling boxes as they prepare for the big race. It also offers a retractable roof for warmer days – making it the perfect sun trap. The pub is a comfortable hub, with views of the kitchen and light acoustic entertainment.

Dress Code: Gentlemen are required to wear a well-tailored suit or a blazer/sports jacket with smart trousers, together with a shirt, collar and tie. Ladies are required to wear smart dress. No denim jeans of any colour, no trainers, no sportswear and no fancy dress will be permitted.
