Music icons Tom Jones and Nile Rodgers & CHIC made memories for over 17,000 guests Chester Racecourse yesterday [Friday 14^th August 2026].

The legends brought a night of timeless hits to city, as the racecourse transformed its open course into an outdoor concert arena for the biggest music concert the venue has hosted to date. General Admission tickets sold out on Thursday, proving the popularity for the acts.

Thousands travelled to the city from across the UK, providing a major boost to the local visitor economy while cementing Chester Racecourse’s reputation as one of the region’s leading events and entertainment venues.

Tom Jones remains one of Britain’s most loved performers, having sold more than 100 million records worldwide. Meanwhile, Nile Rodgers & CHIC continue to delight audiences around the globe with a catalogue of instantly recognisable disco classics, such as Everybody Dance, Good Times, and Le Freak.

All guests enjoyed a variety of food stalls and bars on the open course to fuel them ahead of the headline acts. While hospitality guests relished being wined and dined by the racecourse’s in-house catering business, Horseradish, in the venue’s premium enclosures, before getting full access to the golden circle viewing area.

“We’re well versed in playing host to large volumes of guests on race days, but tonight we put on the biggest music concert Chester Racecourse has ever seen, and we couldn’t be happier with the result. It was amazing to watch thousands of guests singing and dancing along throughout the night. I want to say a huge well done and thank you to the team that made this event happen.
