And of course, it wouldn’t be the Boodles May Festival Ladies Day without our iconic Best Dressed Competition. We’ve got prizes galore that would make anyone envious – but we’re keeping that up our sleeves for now.

It’s time to start planning your outfit – because for this raceday, dressing to the nines pays off in a very big way!

Boodles May Festival Ladies Day is galloping back on Thursday 6th May and as always, it’s shaping up to be the most stylish day on the Chester calendar. But it wouldn’t be complete without our Best Dressed Competition.

Three outfits. Three winners. One almighty haul of prizes worth thousands, courtesy of our fabulous sponsors.

The Ladbrokes Ormonde Stakes

For those who come for the roar of the crowd and the thunder of hooves, Boodles May Festival Ladies Day delivers racing drama at its finest. As well as the Best Dressed Competition, the spotlight falls on the mighty Ladbrokes Ormonde Stakes – a true test of endurance and excellence.

This prestigious Group 3 race is open to horses aged four years or older and is ran over a distance of 1 mile, 5 furlongs and 84 yards. The Ladbrokes Ormonde Stakes can serve as a trial for the Coronation Cup. The last horse to win both races in the same year was St Nicholas Abbey in 2011.

Expect tension. Expect talent. Expect a race where legends are made.
