Chester Race Company Take Three Industry Accolades at the RCA Awards

Chester Race Company are delighted to announce the recent success at the eleventh annual Racecourse Association Showcase Awards. This marquee event of the RCA celebrates excellence and innovation amongst British Racecourses in partnership with Great British Racing, Racing Post, the Racing Foundation and Racing Together.

It is renowned as the event to attend, learn from, engage with, support and celebrate racecourses. The daytime seminar and evening black tie awards ceremony are both guided by the principal themes of excellence and innovation, which encourages all racecourses to apply to every element of racecourse operation and raceday experience.

The independent judging panel this year was comprised of Ann-Marie Blake (Managing Director, Verdayne Communications), Martin Dalby (Chairman, Center Parcs), Lee Mottershead (Senior Writer, Racing Post), George Foster (Managing Director (UK), Two Circles) and Louise Norman (Head of Ownership Experience, Racehorse Owners Association).

Jeannie Chantler of Chester and Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse won the prestigious RCA Chairmans Award for Outstanding Contribution to Racing, on account of her wonderful career within the sport spanning over 25 years. This is in addition to the Special Recognition award she won at the Welsh Racing Awards just the week before.

Chester Racecourse was awarded a Highly Commended accolade for the ‘Chester Loves Racegoers. Love It Back’ campaign in the Racing Together Community Award category. The aim of the campaign was to engage with the local community as well as Chesters’ racegoers to encourage people to respect the city whilst they are visiting the racecourse.

The company’s most recent acquisition, Musselburgh Racecourse were also awarded a Highly Commended accolade in the ‘Best Raceday Event’ category for their Superhero Raceday. This was a great way of welcoming a younger audience to the racecourse and to the sport too.
