Chester’s most glamorous day out returns!

Published on 20 August 2021

This Saturday, Chester Racecourse will see the return of its renowned fixture Ladies Day. An iconic event which holds a special place in social calendars up and down the country. This year’s social event of the season is sponsored by Matthew Clark.

Taking place on Saturday 21st August, it will be the world’s oldest operating racecourse’s first sell out fixture in two years. With an attendance expected in excess of 25,000, Ladies Day will mark an important step in not only Chester’s progress, but also the country’s in moving towards a brighter future.

All the staff at Chester Races have been working around the clock to mark the return of our usual crowds in the style and charm Ladies Day deserves. Everyone is buzzing with excitement to be able to welcome customers back, in hallmark Chester style and luxury. It’s guaranteed to be an unforgettable day for all.

Keeping with tradition, we’ll be hosting our annual Ladies Day ‘Best Dressed Competition’. With 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places available, there’s plenty of opportunity to win some amazing prizes. Our three best-dressed ladies will go home with prizes including a one-night dinner and bed & breakfast at Peckforton Castle plus a half day off-road Land Rover experience for two, Clogau jewellery, Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé, VIP tickets to the Taste Cheshire Food & Drink Festival and Liverpool ONE shopping vouchers.

Ladies Day is completely sold out except for the Open Course. Tickets for the Open Course can be purchased on the gate, on the day for £10. This area is a great place to relax and soak up the electric atmosphere of a busy race day.

There’s no doubting the excitement customers and staff are feeling as Saturday approaches. The Matthew Clark Ladies Day is set to be an unforgettable fixture for all.

Andrew Morris, Director of Racing at Chester Racecourse, said: “All of us here at Chester Racecourse are thrilled to be able to see a busy racecourse once again. Nothing beats a race day with a full crowd and I’m sure all our guests are just as excited to return to the Roodee too.

“COVID-safe measures will still be in place, including sanitiser stations across the course, to ensure all of our guests’ safety and comfort.

“With an incredible line-up of races and competition prizes, the Matthew Clark Ladies Day 2021 is going to go down in Chester history.”

There are just four remaining fixtures for 2021 at Chester Racecourse. For more information on the race days and to buy tickets to our Autumn Fixtures, visit chester-races.com.
