The Lord Mayor’s Fireworks Extravaganza smashes pre-sales records!

Published on 25 October 2021

On 6 November 2021, the Lord Mayor’s Fireworks Extravaganza will return to the world’s oldest racecourse in partnership with Chester Racecourse. This much-loved event attended by the local community was sadly unable to take place last year due to the pandemic. 2021 however, will see the city of Chester’s favourite fireworks event rise from the ashes.

This year has seen unparalleled demand for the event from the general public with pre-purchased ticket sales via the website and Box Office breaking previous years records. Tickets for the event are selling faster than we have ever seen before and we now have a limited number of tickets remaining.

Due to the demand for tickets and the speed at which bookings are being made, the Lord Mayor’s Fireworks Extravaganza at Chester Racecourse is now set to be a sell-out event! As a result, the fireworks night is now strictly a ticketed event and there will not be any ticket sales on the day at the gates.

With very limited tickets remaining, Chester Racecourse is now encouraging everyone who wishes to attend to book as soon as they can to avoid disappointment. Tickets can be purchased via the website at chester-races.com or by phone with the Box Office on 01244 304610 (or in person at the Box Office).

The 2021 Lord Mayor’s Fireworks Extravaganza at Chester Racecourse is set to be the best in the city, with two separate firework displays. The first at 6:45pm for children, and a second main display taking to the skies and set to music at 7:30pm.

There will also be a funfair at the world’s oldest racecourse, as well as fire performers and LED stilt walkers performing impressive feats throughout the evening. Attendees will also be spoilt for choice with food and drink as a multitude of the racecourse’s own bars and eateries as well as third-party food vans open up for the special event to ensure spectators have an unforgettable experience.

The entire event is being run not-for-profit in order to raise money for charity with staff at the racecourse volunteering to work the event. Share is this year’s partner charity. Share work with homeless people in North Wales and Cheshire, as well as assisting refugees internationally.

Tickets are £5 per person when bought in advance (plus a transaction fee). Children under 4 are welcomed free of charge into the event with a paying adult ticketholder. Gates will open to the public at 5pm, with the funfair and racecourse closing for the night at 9:00pm. For more information, visit chester-races.com.
