This ‘adults only’ enclosure is partially covered, offering shelter from the elements, with informal seating for guests.
The Winning Post is the perfect spot from which to socialise and enjoy an afternoon’s racing, in close proximity to the Parade Ring and the track, it’s a great location for those looking for the complete Chester experience. On arrival, you will receive a complimentary racecard from your host, enabling you to make your selections for the day and read all about the runners and riders.
Take advantage of the Chester Bet and Tote facilities within the Winning Post when placing your bets and collect any winnings swiftly and easily from our experienced team.
There are two bars situated within the Winning Post; Refill and Refresh. Only accessible to guests of the Winning Post, here you can purchase drinks from an exclusive range of premium beverages including Champagne, gins and soft drinks. For those feeling peckish, the various eateries within the Paddock Enclosure are all in close proximity and food can be brought back to enclosure to enjoy from your unreserved table. This enclosure offers partial coverage from the elements.

A coveted County Long Room badge affords racegoers entry to the County Long Room Bar, the Walls Bar, covered seating within the County Stand and exclusive access the County Champagne Bar within the Paddock area of the course.
Capacity in this enclosure is limited and early purchase highly recommended. Offering fantastic views of the final furlong and finishing post, a County Long Room badge is a popular choice for racegoers looking for the perfect combination of spectacular views of the track and full use of Chester’s facilities.

Overlooking the final furlong and the finishing post, the County Concourse is a premium enclosure at the heart of the Racecourse.
This badge permits racegoers access to the Paddock and all accompanying facilities including the County Champagne Bar and Parade Ring viewing.
This badge does not provide access to the seated area in the County Stand, although limited standing is available in the first few rows (excluding Boodles May Festival fixtures.

A Tattersalls ticket is the ideal choice for racegoers looking to access both sides of the track and affords excellent viewing of the final stages of every race.

Dress Code: Smart casual dress is suggested. Smart (not ripped) jeans, trouser or chinos and polo shirts/collared shirts are permitted for gentlemen. We encourage smart dress code in all enclosures, so feel free to dress up and enjoy the occasion. Please note that shorts, sportswear, t-shirts and fancy dress are not permitted in this enclosure.
The Dee Stand has a tiered, uncovered terrace and ground floor standing area. A ticket for the Dee Stand provides access to food concessions, bars and betting facilities within Dee Stand and the Open Course enclosure.
A Dee Stand ticket does not permit access to the Paddock area of the course, but ticket holders are permitted to access the Open Course enclosure in the centre of the race track, where free children’s activities and live entertainment can be enjoyed (weather permitting). There is a ‘Buy 10 get 1 free’ offer available across all race days*, this is the perfect option for larger groups.
There is no strict dress code in this enclosure. It is however advisable to dress for the elements. Should you wish to upgrade your ticket to a Tattersalls ticket on the day, shorts, sportswear, t-shirts and fancy dress will not be permitted.
The Open Course is located within the centre of the race track and is the ideal setting for a relaxed day at the races.
Free children’s activities and live entertainment (weather permitting) to entertain younger racegoers make it the perfect family day out and entry for children aged 17 and under is completely free (when accompanied by a full paying, responsible adult).
Tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day at the gate. Pack a picnic to enjoy in the designated picnic area or take advantage of the food concessions and bars of the Open Course. A great day for all the family!
There is no dress code in this enclosure. It is however advisable to dress for the elements. Racegoers are permitted to bring their own food and soft drinks into this area, although you will find a number of refreshment vendors on site. Chester Bet and racecard vendors are also located out on the Open Course, however there isn’t an ATM, so we advise you to bring cash with you.

The Turf Restaurant is situated on the ground floor of the County Stand and provides an intimate atmosphere from which to enjoy a glass of Champagne on arrival, followed by a four course d’hôte menu and Afternoon Tea.

A Turf package includes a complimentary Racecard and County admission, along with access to the Grandstand seating (unreserved), offering fabulous views of the course and the Winning Post. The location also offers easy access to the live entertainment and amenities on Paradise Row.
To ensure the ambience of the restaurant is maintained, bookings of no more than 10 people will be accepted. If your party is in excess of 10 people, the Final Furlong Restaurant may be better suited to your requirements.

The White Horse is a modern gastro-pub, set in the heart of the Paddock area of Chester Racecourse. Just a short walk from the winner’s enclosure, guests can enjoy a prime location right in the centre of the racing excitement.
This ambient on-course pub offers a relaxed race day dining experience, including a glass of Prosecco on arrival, followed by a delicious three-course lunch with coffee. The menu features refined British gastro-fayre inspired by seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. There is also a bar serving carefully selected cask ales, wines from around the globe and artisan gins.
Guests can choose from a table within the conservatory or pub itself. Both packages provide a reserved table throughout the day, complimentary racecard on arrival and access to in-house betting facilities and all the amenities of the Paddock Enclosure.
The conservatory is a stylish and contemporary area of the pub which boasts views of both the pre-parade ring and of the horses in their saddling boxes as they prepare for the big race. It also offers a retractable roof for warmer days – making it the perfect sun trap. The pub is a comfortable hub, with views of the kitchen and light acoustic entertainment.

Each Box provides spectacular views of the Final Furlong, Winning Post and the Paddock. All of the Private Boxes are decorated to the highest standard and provide exceptional facilities, each with a private balcony.

The Paddock at Chester is the true heart of the Racecourse. The Paddock Rooms are perfectly situated adjacent to the Parade Ring and offer private dining, along with the opportunity to relax on your own terrace.
Offering an unrivalled location and value for money, complementary WiFi and parking as standard; our onsite accommodation is provided by Holiday Inn Express Chester Racecourse. Please call 01244 327 900 to enquire, early booking is advised.
We have three ATMs on-site and available to use on raceday. These are located in the stairwell of the County Stand, in the Paddock behind the Pavilion Bar and in Tattersalls Enclosure. There is a charge to use the machines and a minimum withdrawal of £20 is required. Please be advised that all bars accept contactless payment up to £30 and selected Chester Bet terminals offer the same facility. An ATM is available all year round in the Holiday Inn Express, Chester Racecourse.
Children under the age of 18 are admitted free of charge into all areas (except the Winning Post Enclosure), when accompanied by a full paying responsible adult. No tickets are necessary, however, children entering the County Enclosure or County Long Room will require a junior badge which can be collected from the Box Office on the day of racing. Each stand at Chester Racecourse adheres to a specific dress code policy. Please note that racegoers who do not adhere to the required dress code may be refused access to the Racecourse.

Free tap water is available at all bars that reside within a permanent structure. Please ask a member of staff for your free glass of tap water or the nearest location from which you can acquire free tap water.

Gates open at 4.30pm. Racegoers are advised to leave plenty of time to make their journey to the Racecourse.

Please can we remind drivers to be mindful of local residents when they drop-off or pick up – do not leave engines idling or wait in residential areas.
Parking is available onsite for £8 per vehicle and can be purchased in advance online after your ticket or badge selection has been made.
Alternatively, advance parking can also be purchased over the phone via the Box Office on 01244 304 610. Cash and card payments are accepted on the day on entry to the Car Park, places are issued on a first come, first served basis. If you have not purchased tickets to the race day, you will be required to park your car and then visit the Box Office to purchase tickets on arrival before you enter the course. Tickets for the Open Course can however be bought on the car park entrance, whilst tickets to Tattersalls Enclosure can be bought at Gate 11, adjacent to the car park.
Racegoers wishing to enjoy a picnic by their car before entering the Open Course will be directed to a specific area of the car park – the Car Park Picnic Area. This area is available to racegoers who have purchased Open Course tickets and Open Course Car Parking. Within this area, you are welcome to bring a moderate amount of alcohol for your picnic on a raceday.

Places on our official Race day Tour can be bought in conjunction with the advance purchase of a Winning Post Enclosure, County Concourse, County Long Room Badge or Tattersalls ticket. Please contact the Box Office for more information and to book on 01244 304 600. A race day tour costs £15 per person and includes a complimentary racecard. Places are limited and issued on a first come first served basis.
On race days, road closures are in place around the racecourse to enable pedestrians’ safe entry to and exit from the Racecourse.
Between the hours of 09:00 and 21:00, road closures will be in place on New Crane Street, Watergate Street and Nuns Road. Safety barriers will enforce the closures, providing additional security to members of the public. Barriers will be removed from 21:00 on the evening of a raceday to allow for normal access. Please be aware that timings change for a Friday evening/Saturday day meeting. Barriers will be in place between 13:30 on the Friday to 21:00 on the Saturday.
Those visiting the racecourse by car should follow the temporary yellow signage in place on approach to the city of Chester to reach the racecourse. We recommend that you do not input the
Chester Racecourse postcode (CH1 2LY) into your Sat Nav, but instead approach from Sealand Road (to the West of the city) using postcode CH1 4LZ.
