City Day | Chester Racecourse

City Day

Tuesday, May 5, 2020 - 11:30

The opening day of a new Chester season for the oldest racecourse still in operation in the world.

City Day is built around a celebration of the heritage of the racecourse and our unique position within the city. Following the breath-taking traditional curtain raiser of the Lily Agnes Stakes, the Chester Vase and Cheshire Oaks will serve up some fantastic on-track action on the hallowed Roodee turf.

Top-class contenders from the likes of Aidan O'Brien and John Gosden will go head to head to compete at Epsom later in the season - this is the opportunity to run on the best conditions over the three days of the festival. The bar is set, expect high calibre racing and plenty of thrills.

Tickets and badges for opening day of the season and the Boodles May Festival are now available to buy and prices are frozen for 2020.

A special Half-Price offer is available on County Concourse and Tattersalls Enclosure tickets. Purchase your discounted tickets before the discount deadline to take advantage of this offer.

A group offer is available on both Dee Stand and Open Course tickets. Buy 10 tickets in either enclosure and receive an extra ticket absolutely free ‚Äď perfect for group organisers or the person in your group celebrating a birthday or other special occasion. If you add 10 tickets to your basket, an additional ticket will be added by the Box Office during the fulfillment of your tickets.

The deadline to purchase tickets should you wish to receive them in the post is Wednesday 29 April 2020. Past this point, tickets can be collected on the day from the Box Office on arrival before 11am.
